Crookers at D! Club in Lausanne, our 2 cents

Impressive, no less than that. Yesterday night a huge crowd of electro-lovers filled the D! Club, witnessing a spectacular show by Crookers. Even more impressive is the fact that these people put their faith in the Italian duo, ditching MAD and the electro house superstar Laidback Luke. These folks were not disappointed, as Crookers dropped a cutting edge performance and entertained the vast number of attendees. Their mixing style and taste are slightly unconventional, with funky beats mixed with harsh bass lines and frequent drops. Something which clearly made everyone go crazy, making the act of jumping the favorite sport in the crazily packed club. Another great success for Party Bangers then, which also deserves credit for the first-class performance by their dj Bad Nelson. Hearing, in the same mix, Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics, Positif by Mr. Oizo and Warp 1.9 by The Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki, the latter literarily tearing the place apart, is just brave and genius.

A closing remark on D!: well managing a club is hard, we know it. Badly managing it with such guests is even harder, though. Expecting people to show up at 10pm for a table reservation (which in principle is a VIP service) is just not acceptable. Moreover, paying 35.- chf for the entrance and 17.- chf for drinks is reasonable, unless bouncers give free wrist stamps to friends. We personally witnessed this arrogant behavior, made without even trying to hide it from the surprised (and offended) long queue. Moreover, inside the club we met people who were bounced due to their age while queueing right in front of us.

We're sure these are just isolated cases. Hopes are that similar situations won't happen at the next big event we will attend, the 2manydjs dj set on March, 5th (by the way...'dj set'? why not having the visuals too?).
