Part of Lausanne never dies: 2manydjs live at D! Club

I think this review of the Dewaele brothers' concert yesterday night at D! Club could easily be replaced by the description of the constant whistle in our ears and a picture of the smile on our faces. But now that we're at it, let's go with the details...

The night begins with a set by Speedrax where we finally realize how music by Boys Noize and The Toxic Avengers is not something relegated to underground clubs anymore!

The nice gig keeps the kids dancing until the big stars finally walk the stage.
The Belgian duo comes back to Lausanne after a stunning surprise gig at Vivapoly in May 2010 and a disappointing (double) forfait in Zürich at the end of last year.
Our expectations are therefore very high. We've been waiting for quite some time, hours and months at the same time, and our legends must not fail us. They didn't.
After a few minutes the guys from Ghent manage to get to know the sound system at D! Club (and also to get rid of some very nice equipment from the previous dj, like the Novation Launchpad for Ableton Live).
The difference between a good dj and these guys, who mix using no laptop whatsoever, is then made clear.
If you're dancing to some very hard bass lines and you suddenly hear a sample form Money, Money, Money by ABBA, you'll smile at their genius. When after a few seconds you spot another old school sample, from Pink Floyd's Money, you'll just go nuts at their cleverness.
The whole set is like this, bright ideas and hard bass lines. It's been worth the wait.

At the dawn of 4 am, as the set is finishing, we dance our last energies to Crookers and Soulwax's We love animals, closing a night opened by, among the others, To protect and entertain by Busy P (Crookers remix).
These people are among the best performers and producers in the world of electro music.
We suddenly realize how all of them played in the past month at D! Club, which has come up with a brilliant schedule lately.

Mind you, it's not over yet. Next week Party Bangers are bringing another big shot to the club in Place Centrale: Moguai, from deadmau5's label mau5trap.
We can only hope the mouse himself will soon pay us a visit!
